The hotel's name, such us the name Positano, are linked to a precious Byzantine painting dating back from the 13th century and portraying the Virgin with Christ. After the Saracens stole the painting, they brought the painting back to this country because the Virgin unexpectedly made a seastorm break out saying them: "posa, posa" (in english: "Lay it down, lay it down").
The 4-star historical Hotel Posa Posa has a splendid location in the center of Positano, set in the mountain-side descending to the sea. Dècor is romantic and original, with hand painted tiling and Mediterranean colours on white backgrounds throughout the hotel room's. At the 4th level, with a wonderful panoramic view, the Restaurant Mirage. The best dishes of the regional or internation cuisine are always available. The Hotel Posa Posa also has a meeting room which accomodates up to 20 persons. It can be used for conventions.

Only 20 meters there is the parking place, watched over 24hrs, not included in the cost of the hotel.
A few minutes walk downhill will take you to the beach, passing boutiques and panoramic pavement cafes along the way. A circular bus routes passes outside the hotel for those days when you might prefer not to walk.

If you come with car from Rome take the Autostrada A1 until Napoli. Then, after the payment, take the autostrada Napoli-Salerno A3, and go out Castellammare.
Then follow the signs to Positano.

Lift to beach is at 500 meter.
The ferry and hydrofoil port (Spiaggia grande) to Capri/Amalfi/Sorrento is 1 km from the hotel.

3 days after to your scheduled arrival date no penalty. If the cancellation is made within 7 days prior to the arrival a one night room plus tax charge penalty per room reserved will be charged to your credit card/deposit.
